Making Your Desires Known to God

What is your biggest dream that you've been praying about to God? What does your heart desire in improving your Quality of Life? What actions have you taken toward the things you've been asking God for?

Working with my clients, I have so much passion towards their desires of change. Whether they want to have a closer relationship with God, change their mindset to have a better outlook on life or change how they view money and prosperity, in order to manifest a better quality of life, I’m excited to be a part of their journey. Yet, as much as I have passion, I can also relate to the agony they experience in pushing through to make things happen. I’m sure you may have desires and goals that you struggle with. Everyone has a dream that they want to pursue but pursuing it can be a beast. You begin with good intentions. You start out good and positive just to end up back where you started and feeling like a failure. For some reason you can’t seem to get to the next level. You go two steps forward and end up four steps back. You struggle to do what’s needed to put you on the path but then your comforts win you over again and again. You never seem to get out of where you are. You get stuck time and time again. Then you get discouraged and a cycle of disappointment ensues.

Change can feel very weird, making you feel out of place. It’s uncomfortable, confusing, and untrusting. Your spirit feels more comfortable with what it already knows. It doesn’t trust the unknown. The unknown is a stranger. But most things that you didn’t know started somewhere before you began to trust it. You feel complacent with what’s happening now because you can see it. It’s very familiar to you like an old friend. Your mind finds it hard to see the future as reality compared to now. It’s almost living like you’re in the movie groundhog day. If you never make the changes you desire, it’s like waking up everyday to the same scenario. You live the same routine life over and over again. The ironic thing is that groundhog day becomes your future. If you do the same thing, you’ll get the same day each time, no matter how much you want a change in your life.

Romans 7:15: I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.

Some businesses depend on people’s inabilities to change. Look at how many diet programs are out there. The fitness gym depends on people’s new year resolutions so that they can make a mountain of money off those who will make monthly payments and never come to the gym. Even pharmaceutical companies make medicine because they depend on people’s struggles to take care of their bodies in their overall health. There's nothing wrong with getting help. I'm also a service provider. However, some companies take full advantage of people not being able to implement changes. The gym owner knows that most people will join around New Years and possibly never come back all year while continuing to collect their money.

When someone decides to work with me, I truly understand that they need help through the fight; that they have been trying and now reaching out for assistance. But I also understand that it’s a big step for them because at some point, they’ve decided that they were going to overcome their agony of change. Despite the personal pain they may have experienced, they began to understand that they are important. They’ve made a decision to make themselves a priority in their life. They unapologetically commit to themselves through Christ. They are determined to improve their life and they do!

Isaiah 40:29 - He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

When I was in prayer the other day and thinking about how hard it is for people who desire change to produce change, the Holy Spirit put in my spirit that you should stop asking for the result of change. Instead, ask for the power to change. I pressed in more and understood that the Lord understands that change is hard. He gave us Jesus for goodness sake. He knows that you have been praying and asking God to bring change to your life and all the goods that come with it. However, you may lack the power required to take the steps of faith to implement the change. You may think that the thing you are praying for is the key to things getting better when it is having the strength to carry out, in faith and action. In other words, pray for the strength and power of God to empower you to a transformation that will manifest the quality of life you desire. So many things keep people from doing and being better; fear, lack of self-value, unbelief, lack of confidence, distractions, hopelessness, other people and more. There could be things hidden in your heart that prevent you from allowing beautiful miracles in your life. These hidden obstacles can work like kryptonite and weaken you within taking away your inner strength. Life can do that to you but Jesus has overcome! The Lord can strengthen you with Himself when you get close to Him and talk to Him about your weaknesses. You have the Almighty presence with you!

If you can relate to this and you have desires that you want to fulfill in your life to improve your quality of life, such as improving your health, going back to school, prepping for a better job, starting a business or ministry, growing to become a spiritual powerhouse, and more, please go to God in authenticity and ask Him for power and strength to overcome your weaknesses and obstacles that get in your way of the abundant life He’s set aside for you. Share with Him where you need love, healing, and growth.

Isaiah 40:31 - but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

You may require healing in order to support and infuse your change. There may be things that you need to work out with Jesus as you request the desires of your heart. To reach your goals, you are required to participate. The Lord sees your faith as an active participant in the process. God is not a magic wand. Your faith is the magic wand. Let Jesus empower you. Your faith will grow and so will your actions behind it.

Ephesians 6:10 - Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
