The Self Worth of Prosperity

2018 is off to a grand start!! I hope you’ve written down those 2018 goals and steps to get there like I discussed in my last eblog. If you haven’t had time to read, go here. It’s about getting you on-board to Mastering Joy in your life through discipline. It is my heart’s desire and passion that you learn to live your best life. Life is so short and every moment counts. I don’t want you to waste any more time.

I can already feel the difference spiritually from last year to this year. This is going to be a much better year. If you’re not jumping on the Mastering Joy wagon, you’re going to miss out tremendously. This is a year of favor. If you jump on the wagon, things you’ve been asking for will manifest this year but you must do the work as well. Faith without works…. You know the rest.

In prayer yesterday, I was talking to the Lord about poverty. In my Purpose To Prosperity program, I work with clients on their money mindset and getting to the truth about how Christians should approach prosperity. The Lord got really deep yesterday about this and He wants me to share it. So here we go…

The first thing He said is that, “Fear and Money Does Not Mix and Guilt Kills Prosperity”. If you have a feeling of fear or guilt in manifesting prosperity, you will not be prosperous. But then He magnified the deeper issue of where the fear and guilt come from.

Abundance and Prosperity in your life is directly correlated to your ‘Self-Worth’. Though many Christians seemingly hold themselves back from acquiring money in their lives (which can be a benefit of prosperity and the best example) because they think money is evil based on misrepresentation of the scriptures, the deeper issue is ‘Self-Worth’.

Did you know that there are just as many scriptures that speak to wealth as there are that may seem to speak against it? Such as:

“He who tills his land will have plenty of food, but he who follows empty pursuits will have poverty in plenty.” Proverbs 28:19

“He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.” Psalm 1:3

“Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.” Proverbs 13:11

But your mindset will gravitate to the scripture that fits your self-worth (what you believe about your self-value) the best.

What is your self-worth? How do you measure yourself? What do you think about who you are? How do you feel about yourself?

Here are some signs that you have a problem with self-worth that compromise true wealth and prosperity that the Lord has for your life:

  • You compromise because you don’t want to make trouble

  • You compromise because you feel a worst option is better than possibly no option at all

  • You compromise because you’d rather be accepted by others than to have God’s Promise

  • You compromise because you’re afraid to say No and fear you won’t be liked

  • You compromise because you feel the value of something else is greater than your own self-value

How many times have you made a decision you totally knew would work against you, but you did it anyhow (for whatever reason you convinced yourself)?

Years ago, I took a job that I knew I shouldn’t take. The money was good, but it didn’t match up with God’s plan of abundance/prosperity for me. It didn’t feel right. God even gave me a warning dream about it. Overall, it didn’t match up to my self-worth. I took it anyway. I paid the price. Working in that job was exhausting. I felt emotionally abused and the environment was toxic. It was a spiritual drain; a spiritual death.

  • I compromised because the money was greater than my own self-value

That job put me into a better salary bracket, but I didn’t have to take that road to get there. The only road you will ever need is the one the Lord has for you. His value within your ‘self’ will carry you to a wonderful life. Your self-value working at its best is God’s road map to His Promise. It makes finding your treasures easier.

We do this many times to ourselves. I can tell you a few stories. I’ve seen women compromise because the value of having a relationship was greater than their own self-value. I’ve seen women give things they couldn’t afford because the value of someone else’s needs was greater than their own self-value. In some way, they suffered more from it decreasing their self-value even more. Prosperity and Abundance is about the infusion of life into you, not the death of life to you. When life or death is within you, you attract more of the same.

Many have watched the speech recited by Oprah at the Golden Globes, which is powerful. She said a lot of positive things. But one thing that stood out is that everyone should be standing in their own truth. Just because we are all Christians, doesn’t mean we are alike. Though we are sisters in Christ and though we are made in His image, we are not all twins. We have our own truths. We have our own personal promises from God. We have a value in Christ that we share but we also have a value separately that’s unique.

God created this world. He then created you for dominion over His creation. He then re-created you from the death of His son. Do you find no value in that? Do you find no acceptance in that?

You don’t make your own value. Other people don’t create your value. God chose to have His Son die over you and over a nation of people who could live a life of Victory through His message. This is why you need that one on one with Him so you can know your own value and grow in it. God’s love will overshadow you making you someone so different. When you do that, you can see your own value clearly, the value of everyone else and change the world. Grab a hold onto Intimacy.

Then something else happened. The Lord took me deeper bringing tears to my eyes. He said, “You’re no prostitute”. Stop allowing yourself to be pimped. He wasn’t talking about prostitution in the sense of idolatry of the Israelite's in the bible. He was speaking of “selling your self-value (yourself, your talents, your great attributes, your gifts, your mind/body/spirit) to an unworthy or corrupt use or purpose to the value/ gain of something or someone else”.

The Lord didn’t create you to be pimped. Don’t forsake your wealth to any person or system that wants to pimp you. You may have already been:

  • Getting pimped for your money

  • Getting pimped for your heart

  • Getting pimped for your soul

  • Getting pimped for your mind

True wealth, abundance, and prosperity is about how you value yourself. It’s about love and acceptance of who God created you to be. It’s about LIFE and adding the spirit of LIFE to your spiritual and physical life, which brings Growth/Progress and not death.

Beginning today and moving forward, the Lord is breaking your bondage away from the prostitute and the pimp. He will restore your value to bring about your treasures. You are the person the Lord chose to forgive through the giving of ONE life instead of your own. And with that new life you have comes characteristics, traits, beauty, gifts, and powers that come from the Goodness of the Father. And with this you will create more value in the world. You Are Not for Sale! Receive your worth! Do Not Be Afraid to ask for what you’re worth and expect more because of what you’re worth. You want more? Work on your self-value.

Dear Lord,

Forgive us for living a life that’s less than what you want for us. Forgive us for letting people take us for granted, for letting others use us against your Will for us. Forgive us for being afraid to say No at times and for letting others do things we really didn’t want. Forgive us for not standing up to the value you created in us and for selling ourselves short just to be accepted. Help us to become what Christ gave us value to become. Help us to have courage and confidence to demand and live in your Promise with the abundance and prosperity that comes from Heaven from which we may benefit physically in this life. Give us the power, strength, and discernment to not withstand the tricks of the enemy that keeps us in spiritual poverty but to overcome Him with LIFE!

In Jesus Name, Amen

The World is God’s, so ask for it ALL! In God’s eyes you are worth more than creation! Make Deposits and Not Withdrawals! Selah
